Today is my last day of employment at Dealerskins, and Monday I will start a new job. I jokingly told everyone at Dealerskins that I as going be working at the Skynet Division of Cyberdyne Systems. While ushering in the total destruction of mankind may have its appeal to some, the truth is I'm going to work at Vanderbilt University. I'm very excited about this move and I'm definitely looking forward to it. But this decision did not come lightly as the group here at Dealerskins is top notch, and I have made quite a few friends here. However, the opportunity from Vanderbilt was one that was too good to pass up.

I have really enjoyed working at Dealerskins for the last couple of years, and my colleagues here are irreplaceable. I feel very privileged to have worked along side such a talented group of people who are so passionate about what they do. Aaron, Cutter, Andy, Joey, Jeff, Ryan, John, and Josh are a great team, and without a doubt I have grown more as developer while working with them than I have at any other time in my career. I only hope that I'm able to keep this momentum going and pass on what I have learned.

With that being said, I think that my baby girl (is a two-year-old still considered a baby?) has an announcement of her own:

Aaron West's Gravatar Eric, it was a real pleasure to work with you over the past two years and see you grow as a person and as a developer. You were part of some big, high impact projects at Dealerskins and you "made a difference" as they say in a number of ways. Not just technically, but impacting lives at Dealerskins as well as the lives of our customers.

I too hope you continue to invest in yourself (personally) and grow your career; it is truly one of the most import things you can do as a person. I wish you all the best in your new role at Vanderbilt. They are really lucky to have you on board!
