One of the coolest things about Railo is that it has a built in system for handling bug fixes and patches, and it's all pretty much automated. No searching for and downloading hotfixes, no renaming and copying .jar files, there's just a simple button inside the administrator.

You just go to the "update" section in the server administrator, where it shows you the available updates for your version. Then if you want to install the updates, click the "execute update" button. It's just that simple.

It gets better. In the unlikely event that you need to remove the updates, you guessed it, just click the "Remove Updates" button. I'm not sure how well this works, as I've never had to remove any updates, but I'm sure it's just as nice as the update installation feature.

How cool is that?

Paul's Gravatar It's a thing of beauty. I just saw Mark Mandels post on the Railo mailing list today and did the same thing. Worked perfectly and I'm now on the latest version.
